Hillary Clinton's Progressed Moon declination and going up

The declination degree of the progressed Moon seems to indicate the level of your personal position, especially when the progressed Moon is Out of Bounds (what is that? See it here: http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2014/01/out-of-bounds.html ).

In January 2016 the progressed Moon of Donald Trump reached her highest degree in declination. From then on, the Moon descended. An earlier study of mine showed that your most popular years are the 4 years before the progressed Moon’s highest position in declination and that the year after that highest point usually is the most difficult one. It is like descending steep stairs and knowing that it will take a long time to reach that level again.
Hillary Rodham Clinton’s progressed Moon, however, is at a rather low level, but going upwards. Husband Bill’s progressed Moon is about to reach top level this year. The lowest position of the progressed Moon is reserved for retirement, stepping back and taking a brake, sometimes to prepare yourself for ‘climbing’, like Hillary Rodham Clinton did when she didn't show herself as much as to be expected in the first weeks and months after her nomination.

I am going down, unfortunately, since early this year and that is fully understandable if you knew my situation. Earlier, my health seemed to be improving and I was looking forward to a nice couple of years with husband, family and dog. Now I know that any hope for those years was in vain and I hope to spend the few years (?) left as good as I can.

Her announcement was on April 12, 2015, with the progressed Moon in the 8th degree North, opposition her natal Moon declination degree. Then it is June 6, with the progressed Moon in the 1st degree South. Wikipedia writes:

“By June 6, 2016, she had earned enough pledged delegates and supportive superdelegates for the media to consider her the presumptive nominee.[428] The next day, Clinton became the first woman to claim the status of presumptive nominee for a major American political party."

Her progressed Moon was rising again!

Progressed Moon and progressed houses

A few days ago someone asked me how to interpret the progressed Moon. Should the progressed Moon be seen as in the natal houses or in the progressed houses? I spent a few days considering the question. As I use not to use houses (or signs) much, it is not surprising that I don't really see an actual correspondence between the moon in house and a concrete event, particularly not because it depends on what system you use. That is completely different when it comes to the angles. The progressed Moon conjunct the Ascendant or Progressed Ascendant marks an emotional moment to remember, one that might change your attitude towards emotions in general. But I promised to have a look, so I did and I here is what I found.

Example 1: Keith Richards falling out of a tree
On that day transit Chiron was square his Ascendant (he met a surgeon:) and transit Sun inconjunct MC showed that it was a day with a status out of balance. He also had progressed Moon in the natal 2nd house (related to the 8th house of crisis) and the progressed Moon was conjunct progressedAscendant (or say: in the progressed chart Moon was conjunct Ascendant) to mark a memorable emotional mo

Example 2: Barack Obama elected in 2008
When Obama became the first black POTUS, the progressed Moon crossed his natalAscendant in the period after the election and before his entrance in the White House. The progressed Moon was in the progressed 11th house of friends, perhaps an indication of how many friends he had at the time.

Example 3: Caitlyn Jenner coming out
Caitlyn (former Bruce) Jenner’s ‘coming out’ as a transgender was with progressed Moon in his natal 8th house of transformation and in the progressed 6th house of clothing but not on an angle.

Example 4: Queen Maxima
Dutch Queen Máxima had to go home and leave her husband in China during the official visit because of an ailment.Progressed Ascendant conjunct Mars and a Saturn-Neptune transit could have warned her before she travelled to China, but with the progressed Moon in progressed 9th house she had to travel, of course:).

In my opinion, the Moon in aspect  with an angle marks a memorable moment, while the progressed Moon in a house tells us more about the setting, a background. Is the progressed Moon in a natal house, than there is an already existing situation. A progressed house informs us about a temporary and developing situation. For example: Queen Maxima in China (for a while). But it doesn't always look that obvious. When my father died Moon was conjunct Ascendant in my progressed chart (as one of the aspects, like transit Uranus on MC). The progressed Moon was in the 2nd natal house (or the 3rd of the Porphyry house system). My father's progressed Moon was in the progressed 8th house of life and death.

That is why I think that it is a good idea to include the position of the Moon in the progressed chart.

The Pluto-MC renovation

Next week my house will be upside down. The old kitchen will have to make place for a new one. That sounds simple, but it isn’t. Things got more complicated due to an inflammatory condition of my lungs, the start of pneumonia. (Not bad enough to stop me from blogging…)

The chart says:
- Progressed MC opposition(
- transit Mars conjunct Neptune ruler 1 on the eve of the works

This happens shortly after Progressed Moon square Pluto (and transit Saturn involved in this). This also happens right after Mars square Sun/Moon and transit Saturn opposition progressed Moon. And yes, Venus is retrograde, but she wasn't mid November, when the kitchen was bought. I think that Pluto has the starring role now.

When Pluto is around, it becomes difficult, complicated and challenging. How else can you have the promised stress?:) In my case the aspects are even more important. That is because I have an exact natal trine between MC and Pluto, ruler 8 in 6.  So, MC-Pluto lands in fruitful ground and as an astrologer, I am happy to see how the symbols correspond with my condition. Still, I have some objectionsJ

Time, money and schedules. Every renovation has time and money complications. Ours, too.
We tried to call, mail, SMS and write to the builders, contractors and renovators in vain, for weeks, starting mid November. They kept us in the dark about prices and schedules. Pluto is for the price to pay and I had no idea that I would follow the footsteps of all those renovating families on TV and have to add 25%.

There is also more work to be done than expected. And why do I have all that stuff? They say that it is good to throw away something old when you buy something new (or better, to start cleaning in order to make place). Yes, I threw away things that I hadn't used in 15 years! I recently cleaned and organized the garage, too. But somehow it is full again! It just happens… With Pluto, you have to go to the bottom of it (and right now 80% of the floor is occupied).

The latest complication is my health (starting pneumonia, more seriously if the medication - Prednison, for example - fails).  A couple of days ago - transit Mars and Saturn-Moon - we caught a virus. After that I couldn't breath like I used to. I have to avoid any dust next week (and wonder how!). So now I am rather tired and in bed a lot, hoping for better times soon.

Next year Progressed MC will be opposition natal Pluto (and no more other Pluto's). I hope that it will be about the bathroom…and only the bathroom.

Renovations… It is just supposed to be fun with a happy end and it probably will.

Question:
When you renovated (part of) your house, did you have a Pluto progression or transit?

The damper in the chart

This post is about  growing tight hard **) Venus-Saturn or Jupiter-Saturn aspects. They often promise dampers. Let me explain...

If you have a natal Venus or Jupiter in a tight and applying aspect with Saturn, any aspect (transit or progression) with Venus or Jupiter will always be followed by an aspect with Saturn. As Venus and Jupiter or the symbols of joy and success, while Saturn is the symbol of reality and setbacks, there is almost always a damper, something frustrating or a "but", every time that there is a party, a pleasant event or trip.
There are exceptions. This rather cold follow up won't occur in case of a transit with a progressed Venus or Jupiter retrograde, having passed the point of the exact aspect with Saturn. In those cases, things changed in the course of life.

Picture your progressed Sun trine Jupiter, followed by a square with Saturn a few weeks or months later. It doesn't undo the prosperity and positivism of Jupiter, perhaps (though it  cAn), but it certainly makes you aware of the nasty sides of life soon enough, so that the period of optimism won't last for long.
Or what if progressed or SA Venus hits your Jupiter, immediately followed by a bump with Saturn? Ohw!&@&€! It is like the wicked fairy on the Sleeping Beauty's birthday party.

But, could you see this inevitable follow-up in another light? Aren't those people with tight Venus-Saturn or Jupiter-Saturn afflictions already used to expect something nasty, always?
First there was the day that you were born with a tight hard aspect between Venus or Jupiter with Saturn. Venus-Saturn restricts the way that you sympathize or enjoy things. You might be just too serious, materialistic or afraid to simply enjoy, love or admire. Maybe when you were a baby, you felt alone and cold or something hindered you in your most intimate and happy moments, who knows. We can't know for sure, but with Venus-Saturn or Jupiter-Saturn your chart tells you to be cautious and wait for more stabile and sure moments to arrive and not to have too much fun. Jupiter-Saturn is like a journey with too many stop overs and too much administration. You are just too cautious, scared or ambitious/materialistic to really go for it. The sleeping beauty waited 100 years for Mr. Right to kiss her, involuntarily and without knowing it, not growing older at all, but still: she had to bide her time.
Physical problems, matters of time and age, your status or parents or your position in society might block the easy flow of the planets Venus or Jupiter and when you come of age you might experience the benefits of Venus-Saturn or Jupiter-Saturn. That leaves little time to enjoy it.

Dampers happen mostly always with such aspects. So it is not surprising that when your progressed Venus meets Jupiter or vice versa, you don't trust it. You dare not jump into the pool of fun, hesitate to sign the papers before consulting an expert, take care not to get hurt too much...

But, still, there is that party, there is the success and there is the joy of that moment and you - somewhat - like it (you just have to agree with that:). The follow-up (the damper) doesn't come unexpected. So you don't even cry. It will be just another confirmation of what you thought it would be like.
(And then they say that it is YOU who causes it, because YOU were not positive enough. Funny, really.)

I think that life is more fun with separating almost exact narrow aspects of Venus or Jupiter with Saturn... Even the wider growing hard aspects don't 'sound' as 'happy go lucky'. Jacqueline Bouvier (who married Kennedy and Onassis) had Venus in a growing opposition with Saturn.

More examples?
Bashar al-Assad (the Syrian leader) has Venus sesquisquare Saturn, applying. In 2004 his progressed Sun reached Venus, but the meetings with the Israeli leaders didn't lead to peace after all. He started good, but it did't last.

Bob Geldof has Jupiter Retrograde in the natal chart. The progressed planet met natal Saturn in the early 70's. His progressed Jupiter changed direction in 2007. In 2006 and 2008 he was nominated for the Nobel Prize. Those years happened to be the years of controversy (see Wikipedia), too...

Sixto Rodriguez has Jupiter tightly semi sextile Saturn, applying. He didn't benefit much of his successes in South Africa, and had 'late success' indeed, but..., well, read the post about it.
Funny how Geldof and Rodriguez both dealt with the disadvantages of 'the international' Jupiter. Geldof because he couldn't become SIR. Rodriguez because he never heard of his success, being in the States.

Steven Hawking has a tight applying square between Venus and Saturn.

Susan Boyle has a separating tight square between Venus (retrograde) and Saturn. In the progressed chart there is 15 degrees orb now...

Dutch terrorist Tanja Nijmeijer has a tight and applying Jupiter sextile Saturn. The sextile perfected in progression when she was about 14 years old. That is when she dreamt of becoming a religous sister. (Interesting, because Jupiter-Saturn is one of the symbols of a religious profession). From that moment on, Saturn came first and Jupiter later. Though the publishing of her diary was seen as the prelude to her execution, instead she became a top member of the FARC.

SEXTILES, QUINTILES AND TRINES
Natal symbols of easy ways (out) and creative cooperation have a different effect. Here are some examples of them:

1. Monika Lewinsky's tight Venus sextile Saturn hasn't brought her much luck or fun up to now. The sextile is applying. In 2002 her progressed Sun was first conjunct Venus and later sextile Saturn. That is when she showed up on TV telling her story and got a contract for (first successful and later failed) TV shows.
! I noticed Venus-Saturn progressed aspects in the chart of Michael Jackson (Venus trine Saturn in the natal chart) in the years that he went into business (buying rights of songs).

2. Malala was born with Jupiter Retrograde. The progressed Jupiter is now at 19Aqu14 (still retrograding) and Saturn remains in the 21st degree of Aries. The natal sextile brings her an opposition with Jupiter and than a trine with Saturn in the 2030's, and that sounds good. Saturn's trines bring at least respect. Jupiter sextile Saturn helps her to find ways out of restrictions.

3. Pope Francisco has a natal quintile between Jupiter and Saturn, applying. The quintile indicates a creative way to join the planets. He ended (Saturn) with success (Jupiter). He is creative in finding a way to see the positive sides of duty and set backs.

4. Tina Turner's Venus trine Saturn is tight and applying and that worked for her!:) A professional and respected artist who loves her work and married late:)..

5. Susan Boyle has a separating tight square between Venus (retrograde) and Saturn. In the progressed chart there is 15 degrees orb now...

I wonder: do you have a damper in your chart? And how do you deal with it?

**) Hard aspects are: conjunct, square, opposition, quindecile, semi square, sesquisquare and inconjunct.

*) A retrograde planet in your natal chart or by transit might first meet Saturn in the Venus-Saturn or Jupiter-Saturn aspect and make an aspect with Venus or Jupiter later. The progressed retrograding planet has a long lasting effect. The transit will eventually turn and start the 'damper-procedure' as always...

Astrology of Pope Benedict stepping back

There have been a number of posts about Pope Benedict on this blog and they were often wrapped in a blanket of worries about his condition, but...as a true 'Saturn calling' *) he remained on his post. Now he steps back and even though he is 85, the head of a world church in trouble and apparently not healthy, people are surprised. They are surprised because popes tend to be pope until they die. Watch the chart, progressions and transits, consider the man and his situation, and see that there is reason enough to have some rest.

1. The progressed chart has Pluto on the Ascendant. Pluto rules the 8th natal house of life and death and is in the 4th of endings. Pluto on the Ascendant describes stressful situations and pressure (though he says there was no pressure on him when he decided to stop on February 28). Something transforms when Pluto is on one of the corners of the chart.

2. Transit Uranus square progressed Mars (important because of the opposition with Midheaven in the natal chart) means change, too.

3. Progressed Sun quintile Progressed Chiron might be creative in a healing process or point at the creative attendance of doctors.

4. On February 28 transit Jupiter is novile Progressed Sun for rejoycing that life gets better.

5. The most negative aspect is transit Neptunus quindecile progressed IC. It focusses on a weak basis.

6. Transit Pholus square midpoint AC/MC mirrors the crucial point of no return.

Today he surprised (transit Uranus) the world by breaking (Saturn) free (Uranus).

Chart of Adele

One of the most successful singers today is Adele, born May 5, 1988 in London. Time to study her chart! Astrotheme.fr says that she was born at 3:02 a.m. and that is the time that I used. Here is the chart, calculated on Astro.com with transits and progressions for October 19, 2012 when Adele gave birth to a son. (The father is charity entrepreneur Simon Konecki.)
Adele, natal, transits, progressions October 19

What you see when using the tightests aspects, is:

1. Progressed Moon opposition natal Sun (life changing moment)
2. Progressed Sun quindecile natal Moon (close spotlights on family)
3. Progressed Venus quindecile natal MC (a strong wish coming true)
4. Transit Node inconjunct Progressed Mercury (family talk)
5. Transit Pluto close to progressed Midheaven (intense change in the course of life)
This seems to cover the event…

Of course, I first looked for the pattern of artistic talent and the singer in the chart and for the keys to success. Here are some of them:
1. Mercury 'calling' to communicate somehow, anyhow
2. MC 'calling' to have a position at any possible level
3. Jupiter with Sun, Pluto and Uranus for extra self confidence
4. Angular Mars for the drive and energy that it takes to be a pop star.
5. Venus-Uranus opposition for sense of rhythm (frequent in the charts of pop singers)
6. Mercury quindecile Midheaven (an obsessive focus on using voice or pen in the career)
7. Venus quindecile Neptune for a strong focus on romance and…artistic talents
8. Venus trine Ascendant and opposition Moon for the good looks.
9. Jupiter ruler 10, rising before the Sun
10. The combination of Sun in Taurus, Moon in Sagittarius and Aquarius Ascendant for the uniqueness, the positive approach and perseverance (Taurus) that makes Adele who she is.

That is it, for now.

Or should I mention the overweight? Inconjunctions with Jupiter conjunct Sun, the Taurus Sun and Sagittarius Moon opposition Venus... A bit too much of it all, it says. See Astromarkt, about the indications for overweight... And I couldn't stop without a link to that beautiful song 'Skyfall' graciously sung in the best James Bond I ever saw...

What happened in 1958 ? This...

One blog ago I presented a guess chart and asked you to to try to find out what happened to the lady with that chart in April 1958. Here is the answer to that question.
(See the guess chart here http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/07/guess-what-happened-in-1958.html if you want to give it a try). Here is that chart again:

CIRCUMSTANCES AND NATAL CHART!
Of course, you can't just start making a guess. You need to know about gender, culture, social position and natal chart before you start looking at the transits and progressions. I should have told the readers of this blog that it is about a not western high society lady.

1. Radix
Venus inconjunct MC: this is the aspect pointing at a position in society (MC) too much (inconjunct) related to wealth, beauty, women or being a woman (Venus). Venus is in the 5th house of children and 'the other gender' This woman didn't have children. She also never had a lover (again). But she was very rich and had a 'jet set' life.

2. Radix
Neptune square MC with Venus inconjunct MC: this combination relates the position in society (MC) to romance (Venus-Neptune) or art (Venus-Neptune). As both Venus and Neptune aren't well aspected, the nasty side of romance turns op: disillusion in marriage.

It is the chart of Princess Soraya, who married the Persian Sjah and had to leave when she didn't give him an heir. She had to leave the country, but was overloaded with money. She was never seen with another man.

Transits and progressions
1. Transit Saturn inconjunct Progressed Sun is one of the most difficult and saddest aspects. It is about losing balance because of losing status or control. The transit is EXACT on the day of the official divorce.

2. Progressed Ascendant inconjunct progressed Neptune
Neptune is confusing, but this aspect clearly shows us what is happening. She lost (inconjunct) her partner (AC/DC) and there was a negative and confusing situation. This aspect was also EXACT on the day of the official divorce.

5. Transit Juno with Sun
Juno is the symbol of partnership (Juno was the wife of Zeus). The transit shows: spotlights (Sun) on partnership (Juno). But it was not a beginning!

6. Transit Jupiter on Sun/Moon midpoint and trine Ascendant
There is help and support in the middle of the devastating situation: Jupiter. Jupiter is the planet of traveling (she went to Italy), progress and success (she became rich).

7. Solar Arc Saturnus is spot on on natal Ascendant (EXACT again)
Saturn is for departure, diverse, endings and the axis AC/DC points at relationships (again).

Now we have two inconjunctions (quincunxes: loss) and two times Saturn (endings, barriers) Sun and Neptune relate to the 7th house of marriage. We have 3 bad signs EXACTLY for april 1958. When there are more than 2 indications in a certain direction, there is the 'rule of 3': it might just happen. She didn't die. Her husband remarried and had his son (who never became a sjah). They separated. That is what happened! And the transits and (most of all) progressions are clearly indicating that something sad happened in a relationship. If you want to learn more about progressions, just use the label below to find more examples.

The progressed Midheaven

When I published ‘Progressed Sun, what it is and how’ (about Progressed Sun, Moon and planets) I promised to get into the whole progressed chart later. The way to calculate the frame (Ascendant, MC and houses) is quite different than the way to calculate positions of Sun, Moon and planets, as you may well know. If you know how to calculate a birth chart, it is rather easy to calculate a progressed chart, once that you have chosen a method. And that, selecting a method, is the most difficult step in the process. For those who want to 'progress' a Midheaven it is not easy to make a choice.  They are confronted with: Solar Arc Midheaven, Primary Midheaven, Secondary (Progressed) Midheaven. You can also simply add 1 degree for each year. And there is a reversed version, too! Yes, there are even more ways to progress a chart than those that I mentioned here (see Wikipedia)! Because of the number of systems and methods I very much doubt that one of them is 100% perfect. I mostly use the secondary progression of MC because of the fact that it is the most used system in Europe (and I guess that this has a reason:). But I used the Primary Midheaven before (it is just that the program that I used is on an old laptop).

DIFFERENT METHODS, DIFFERENT RESULTS
Apparently, I haven't found the best way to progress a Midheaven, yet, even not after many many hours trying to 'correct' my chart so that the longitude degrees between planets would correspond perfectly with the progression of Midheaven or Ascendant.
All methods give a different degree for the progressed MC for the same year. The difference is about 5.3 degrees for my own progressed charts for this year! That is difference of about 5.3 years in life time and the difference between a Progressed MD opposition Pluto, sesquisquare Saturn or sesquisquare Uranus. (Maybe with such progressions it doesn't really matter, they are all difficult:).

MY CONCLUSION
Correcting charts by means of using aspects of or transits with Progressed MC or Ascendant isn’t easy because of the existing amount of methods. The progressed, primary, Bonatti or Solar Arc MC aren't  solid tools to 'correct' a birth time...

What method do you use or prefer? Please do the poll...

NEXT: PROGRESSED CHART AND TRANSITS
The progressed Midheaven is the key to finding the Ascendant and the positions of the Progressed Sun, Moon and planets in the chart drawing (and in the houses). I use the progressed chart to see the changed priorities and the most important issues.

The transit Saturn opposition Moon experience

Ever experienced transit Saturn in hard aspect with progressed Moon? It is depressing! It is marking a nasty period to remember. For me it is about being ill too long and watching sad stories.

Remember that on October 6 I had an acute vertigo with Pr A/M opposition Neptune and shortly after an exact transit Saturn conjunct Neptune in Libra? It was very accurate 'Astrologic' for being ill in the field of balance (Libra). They told me that I would be cured in maximum 6 weeks. Most sites tell that and some people think that I should have been better because the books and sites say so. But it has been 8 weeks now and I am not much less dizzy and tired than it was 4 weeks ago! (Though I can write this post now and I couldn't do this in the first week, of course.) I had 3 days to remember how life was before the attack, and I had 47 days more or less seasick and tired. It's not as they said, but thanks to the internet I know that I am not the only exception at all! See the links for info and help in the UK ...It is a very interesting site about Labyrinthitis, written by two young women who have been suffering for months (or years)! I hope that I stop being 'dizzy' much sooner! But I couldn't help worrying, could I, with transit Saturn?

One day I will be OK, I know! That doesn't mean that I haven''t felt Saturn on my Moon! The aspect was exact last Sunday. That is when I watched a sad play (Ivan and the dogs, see YouTube) about the real life story of a homeless boy in Russia, who was sort of saved by dogs and in the end (unlike in the real life story) the dogs died! OMG! This didn't exactly help to make me feel happy! I love dogs (I have Sun sextile Neptune -read about Sun trine Neptune and dog lovers - and see the doggyscope on Astromarkt). It seems that I keep seeing sad stories everywhere! We are all in the middle of an economic and political depression, of course, and life is harder for others, I know, but I am glad that Saturn moves on. However, the old man is on his way to a square with Mars, just before Christmas. I will tell you what happened...

Today, I have one of those days that I would almost believe that the 'virus' (or whatever) has left my inner ear forever (but even though the Moon is in Sagittarius, I hesitate to start cheering).  I feel light and when I shake my head there is only a faint resonation of the movement. Can I see progress in the chart? Yes I can: Transit Jupiter sextile Jupiter. This should mean balance and equilibrium (that is what Hand says about this transit. For some reason there is a lot of balance in the text)! The transit will be exact very soon, on November 30. It will be exact again on January 20 2012 (with a number of transits indicating change and P Moon trine Venus). Maybe there is some progress in between! I consider the Pluto transit to be one of the indications of change and ... come backs! On December 20 transit Pluto is semi square my Progressed Sun. So, maybe just a few more weeks to go.

What happened to you with transit Saturn with Moon or Mars? And/or how for those who had vertigo once: what transits and progressions accompanied that in your life?

1. http://www.labyrinthitis.org.uk/ gives a lot of information!

2. When you have transit Saturn opposition Moon or progressed Moon it is even harder when you try to keep up appearances and look 'normal', even though the mirror shows the contrary. (Have you read the Moon-Saturn post yet?)

3. In the post about Progressed Moon signs and body care I told (myself) that I should take care with dying hair now that I have Progressed Moon in Aries. The day before I had the attack I paid a visit to the hair dresser!
4. In the post about aspect with Progressed Moon I mentined that with Saturn you tend to have low expectations and worry too much.
5. I have Prg Moon in the first house and this is what I wrote about that:
Progressed Moon through the first house: growing need to present yourself, emotional coming out
This progressed Moon changes your attitude and often also the way you look. People will tell you how you have changed and find you more attractive. Your emotional coming out might cost you a lot of handkerchiefs...
