Second chance posts 2: Father Pio's stigmata

Some hardly ever read posts deserve a second chance. Here is one on a subject that may not be in the top 10 of most interesting subject (a fake holy man), but it holds several typical astrological clues to fans/followers (Jupiter-Neptune), successes (Jupiter-Pluto), creativity (quintiles), use/abuse of power (Mars-Pluto) and the end of a reputation (Saturn-Midheaven). That is why I give that post another try. Here it is.

November 11, 2007
FATHER PIO: HOLY or FAKE?

Dutch newspaper Trouw reports on the 8th of November that Saint Padre Pio (born May 25 1887 at 16h10 in Pietrecina) cheated on his audience. He applied the stigmata himself. Also it has become known that Pope John the 23rd was not convinced that Pio sticked to the celibate status of a roman catholic priest. Let us have a look at the chart of a roman catholic priest who still has many believers and followers who worship him.

The birth chart of Padre Pio shows us a man with a lot of self confidence and a strong ability to convince others. Jupiter is 'calling' (not making major aspects in sign). Pluto is rising before the Sun. The prominence of Jupiter and Pluto, making a creative quintile between them, applies to a succesful man.

In religious charts ('fake' or not) there are always combination of Jupiter and Neptune (conviction + immaterial). The closest aspect in the chart of Father Pio is that of Jupiter inconjunct Neptune. Sun, Saturn and Pluto all three make a hard aspect - in the 22.5 degree serie- with the midpoint Jupiter/Neptune.

Even after death, when your reputation is being discussed, transits and progressions stay alive. So it is in Pio's case.

Now that there are doubts about Saint Pio because of the statements of drugstore owners at the time who delivered material that could be used to produce stigmata, we see transit Pluto inconjunct the natal Mars-Neptune of Pio. The progressed Sun is beginning to change sign and next year (right after the square from Jupiter) this Sun will receive a square from Pluto. Is not the circle round?:)
Important moments in time are often marked by come-backs of astrological aspects in/with the natal chart.

BTW: in Pio's solar return chart for 2007 Saturn sits on the midheaven.

Richard Nixon's accurate chart

The chart of President Richard Nixon, provided by Astro.com, has an AA rating. That means that the time of birth is amazingly accurate:). I can see that. On the day that he had to resign there were 6 exact transits:
1. Transit Saturn exactly inconjunct IC and semi sextile Midheaven
Saturn and Midheaven together symbolize an end (Saturn) with a loss involved (inconjunct). Sometimes people fall during a transit of Saturn or break a bone.

2. Transit Jupiter square Midheaven
Jupiter helps, always. Nixon was not prosecuted for Watergate (he received a pardon by his successor Ford). Jupiter-MC is a classical aspect for retirement.

Saturn and Jupiter together reflect ups and downs. Often a combination of Saturn and Jupiter can be seen in the chart during a removal, especially in combination with the IC (house 4: domestic situation). He had to leave the White House.

3.   Transit Node square Ascendant
A difficulty between the community or family and the personal situation...

4.  Progressed chart: Jupiter inconjunct Midheaven
He was blessed, but...he had to give up his position.

5. Progressed chart: Pluto semisquare Midheaven (challenges in public)

6. Transit Mars opposite Chiron (hurt)

Those where only the six exact transits for that day, August 9, 1974. There were more indications at the time, like transit Uranus square Neptune (a hype), Progressed MC semi square Pluto (frustrating challenges and stress) and Transit Pluto inconjunct Progressed Venus (loss of money or value, difficult choices to make with a loss involved). When there is an important moment in life, there are usually more than 3 important transits or progressions.

Here is the chart with transits and progressions:

Saturn and hitting the floor

My mother broke her hip with transit Saturn on her Midheaven, soon after transit Saturn square her Sun. In her natal chart the Sun is inconjunct Saturn. That is perhaps why she hit the slippery stones real hard when she made a wrong move. Saturn's hard aspect is astrological for falling, biting the dust, hitting the floor and ... endings. She just left the operating room now that I write this, succeeded surgery. She is lucky if she is home before Xmas.

Earlier I wrote about Progressed Saturn conjunct natal Saturn and 'memento mori'.  I had noticed transit Saturn square her Sun at that time and saw that Saturn was on his way to a conjunction with MC. That worried me, because I know that Saturn is about aging, falling, ending periods…  One day she suddenly forgot who I was and, trying to avoid problems, I started with visiting her doctor and I hoped that it was finished for a year or so now that she got more aid, a perfect stable chair and bed and even better slippers. She was in good hands, in good order and taken care of. But: Saturn hadn't finished yet. Maybe you simply can't avoid Saturn. Especially not when there are more of such indications, like:

- Transit Chiron square Jupiter (ruler of the Ascendant), a symbolic word about healers around.
- Progressed Sun/Moon sesquisquare Uranus and semi sextile transit Saturn seems to reflect the excitement and nerves, the surgery and the limited possibility to move around.
- The fact that she was already unstable and she is old.

Of course, the situation is being mirrored in my chart.
When they called me, I was spending time in the caravan by the sea. It was with Transit Uranus exactly semi square my progressed Sun and Transit Neptune was inconjunct progressed Saturn. Uranus suddenly changes everything, like an alarm ringing in the morning. And Neptune-Saturn is the combination for illnesses and hospitals. I planned to have heavenly times by the sea and I end up by the side of a hospital bed. Hey, care taking and the sea, that is both Neptune and Pisces. Hospital must be the right spot for me in Saturn's eyes:)…
I am on the way to hospital!

Queen Elizabeth's celebration

For those who are fond of reading about royalty, I proudly present the chart of the Queen of England. Almost no monarch ever reigned longer than she did (Queen Victoria still 'beats' her). On June 2, 2013 she will have reigned for 60 years! She has the right genes, and she has the perfect chart for a queen. Why?

1. Her Sun doesn't make any major aspect in sign, in the very first degree of Taurus  that is a statement for drawing attention at any kind of level, like super stars or leaders do.
2. Saturn has a prominent position on her MC. It means that her father, parenta, status, ambitions, duties and age matter.
3. The Leo Moon is almost to perfect to be true, because Leo is a royal sign and the moon the symbol of females. There we have a queen!

What I like i  this chart, is Mars square Saturn. It is the aspect of discipline and we all know that she has a sort of a military way to do her duty, disregarding pain or bad times.

But, transit Saturn is now square her progresssed Sun, while celebrating the 60th aniversary of being the queen, the longest reigning monarch ever. Maybe it is now that she feels her age, the end of a period in life, the load to carry? It looks like  a shadow hanging over the party or is it just the weight of a milestone? She became the queenwhen her father died, with progressed Sun opposition Saturn. Within 1,5 years her progressed Sun will be trine Saturn, mission completed, being respected and having self respect. With such an important Saturn in the natal chart the transits and progressions of Saturn will be important, too. 60 years is a long time, a respectable time.  If you wonder why they start celebrating this a year ahead instead of after completing the full 60 years after coronation...The King (her father) died on February 6, 1952. She was proclaimed queen on that day.

Oh well, long live the Queen! Here is the chart for the 60th birthday of her coronation, followed by the chart for 60 years ago (June 2, 1953, Coronation day). I notice that there is a Transit Neptune square Ascendant  aspect. Neptune-Ascendant transits or progressions also show up in the coronation charts of the Dutch royal family, if I remember this correctly. Is it about decorum and rituals, I wonder?

With Saturn on top (of the age pyramid)

When Saturn is important in your chart, you might end up on top (of the age pyramide...)
It is not always a pleasure to have an important Saturn in your chart. The ancient astrologers already must have known about the icy rings that surround Saturn as a barrier. How else could they have qualified this planet as reserved (cool) and as the symbol of restrictions? Sometimes Saturn simply drops you and the higher you climb the harder you fall.

I recall the positions of the day of birth of late Amy Winehouse. She had Saturn 'calling' (no major aspects in 5 degrees orb or in sign) in Scorpio (see: http://astropost.blogspot.com/2011/07/life-of-amy-winehouse-and-astrology.html ).
Duty is calling, when Saturn is calling. The not aspected Saturn sort of demands you to be responsible, in control or ambitious, perfect even.

The 'calling' Saturn isn't the only important Saturn. There is another way for Saturn to be important in a chart. Angular Saturn's are important. The angular position of Saturn says that all things that belong to the S of Saturn are of key importance; such as dignity, position, career, status, age, duty. The third way is when Saturn rises before the Sun. That is when your orientation in life is at 'Saturn' first. The classical, managing, controlling Saturn is cautious and materialistic, prone to be sure that there is enough money for casualties and enough food for the winter.

It is lonely at the top in society. Sometimes you loose control and fall.
It is also lonely at the top of the age pyramid. Yes, an important Saturn could also help you to get old, like in the case of a 107 year old.
I have another example. A few months ago there was a documentary on local television about a 101-year old collector of donations. He was born June 3, 1911 in Rotterdam and taking good care of himself. Saturn rises before his Sun and there is no major aspect in sign.

The importance of Saturn in the charts of the above mentioned two old men might of course include the importance of solitude. When you reach such an age you might be the only one left and you might have seen your partner, friends, children and even some grand children die. That might be just as unpleasant as when Saturn means 'endings' and 'farewells' at young age. Or, when you have an important Saturn, you might enjoy the fact that you managed, on your own or with some support, to get on top of the age pyramide.

Both old men had their Suns in aspect with Jupiter and Uranus and other indications for the possibility of getting real old. See Astromarkt about aging or use the label 'old' here if you are interested in the subject.

Elections in Spain

This is the chart of Prime Minister Zapatero (Spain). On Sunday November20 2011 there are elections in Spain and as you see in the chart drawing: this is not the best moment for him. The polls are not in his favor. And Transit Saturn is exactly opposition Midheaven in the Astro.com AA rated chart! Saturn means 'endings' or let's say: finito. And Midheaven is the point in the chart that is reflecting your social position. His main opponent, Mariano Rajoy has transit Pluto now square the natal Sun and that is a challenging aspect, showing stress in an intense period of change. The problems that he will be facing if he wins, are indeed a challenge.

Transits of Sun/Moon and synastry

Transits with Sun/Moon are more important than you may realize. Try them and see. I will have many opportunities to watch the effect, because Uranus, Jupiter and Pluto will be in hard aspect (square, opposition and conjunct) my Sun/Moon in 2013 and 2014. I expect this to resonate change, not just for me, but also for my husband. My Sun/Moon is square his Sun, you see…That means that he will have transit Uranus opposition Sun, when I will have Uranus square Sun/Moon. Transit Jupiter will be square his Sun and opposition my Sun/Moon. Transit Pluto will be square his Sun, when I will have Pluto conjunct Sun/Moon. Couples share things and when your Sun/Moon is in aspect with your partner his life experiences motivate and effect you. When your partner is mourning, you will also be sad. When he is happy, you are happy for him/her...When your Sun/Moon midpoint is in aspect with your partner’s Sun (or a planet or an angle), you join your partner in depressions and celebrations indicated by the transits on your Sun/Moon.

Transits with Sun/Moon are reflecting what is being highlighted in a certain period or what goes on in your family life. When the Sun/Moon is in hard aspect with your partner’s Sun, both of you will see the importance of the same issue. Here are some personal experiences:

- When Jupiter was conjunct my Sun/Moon and square my husband’s Sun, they finished a (nice) redecoration of my house. We were both happy with it.
- Transit Uranus square my Sun/Moon not only changed my career, but also changed the daily pattern, because  my next job was in another city. That was of course also hectic and a change for my husband (who had transit Uranus on his Sun). It was a kind of nervous period.
- I remember December 75, Pluto square Sun/Moon and the challenge was to buy a house with very few money to spend. That was a challenge for my husband, too. He had Pluto conjunct his Sun.
- With both Jupiter and Saturn square Sun/Moon we moved to another place. Together, of course. The combination of Jupiter/Saturn is frequent  in times of removal or migration.

You don’t always have to share the same feelings in the same situation. When I moved to the house that I live in today, this wasn't accompanied by transits on Sun/Moon. That was with a wide range of transits and one important aspect in the progressed chart that I like to mention: Saturn trine Midheaven. That is why I haven’t moved ever since. Saturn is for long lasting!:)

So, what to expect next? With Jupiter and Uranus and Pluto I expect a change in career and/or living place. There might be challenges (Pluto), more or less pleasant surprises (Uranus) and we might also travel or jubilate (yes, Jupiter is the symbol of jubilation, too). I hope to tell you about it in 2 or 3 years:) ...

Chart with a time of birth for Casey Anthony

On May 29 I wrote about the Casey and Caylee Anthony Case. I mentioned the assumed birth data of the mother (Casey Anthony). Today someone informed me about the hour of birth and the place of birth of Casey Anthony. So I again had a look at the charts. I’m glad that I don’t have to judge this. It seems to be a very complicated case. Luckily, I am just a blogger about astrology, so I simply present the chart and tell you what I see.

SATURN, SATURN AND SATURN AGAIN
The most interesting thing is that transit Saturn keeps coming back in this story. In short: what I found was that Casey Anthony has a birth chart with Saturn inconjunct Midheaven (reflecting a bad position including lost of respect) and involved in a Yod (Moon-Saturn-MC). Saturn is at the apex of the Yod with Moon and Midheaven. A finger pointing at Saturn is a finger pointing at (for example) parenthood, responsibility, criticism and depression.

Any transit with Saturn will be important because of the position of Saturn in the natal chart. The transits do mark the most important periods in her life:

1. She had transit Saturn square natal Sun in June 2008 (when Caylee was reported missing).
2. She had Transit Saturn exactly inconjunct progressed Sun when the dead body of her daughter was found.
3. And transit Saturn will again be inconjunct her natal MC, as it was in the past few months.

Here are the chart for the given data, thanks to the person who mailed me, some more observations about the natal chart,  more also about the transits and the progressions  of 2008 and of course the synastry with Caylee.

natal transit and progression of the chart of Casey Anthony in June 2008

Speculating about King Charles

When will Prince Charles be King? Prince Charles is almost old enough to retire and he hasn't started yet. He is breaking the record of being 'king to be'. His chart is good enough for waiting in patience. I once read that the Moon in the 10th house might (mIght!) indicate a position in waiting (like in a shop, waiting for the clients). His Moon is also in Taurus and Taurus has patience. Taurus is a fixed sign. His mother Elizabeth has 50% of her placements in the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius: the sphynx - see the story about Mubarak). In search for the right moment I found November 14 2014, Charles' 66th birthday. On that day Saturn is exactly conjunct the Midheaven of Queen Elizabeth. And transit Uranus is exactly conjunct the Midheaven of Charles, with the progressed Sun changing sign within six month (for the changing life style). I hope Uranus means surprise and not 'shock' on that day. Here is the chart of Charles for 2014.

Speculations about abdication is like predicting the weather. Next weekend (so they tell me) there will yes and no be rain and that temperatures might be lower than or above 15 degrees. Anyway: it will be fresh enough for camping weather! Wish me strength!
