Hulk Hogan: Saturn, Pluto and Pholus

Suppose that you are Hulk Hogan, a tough, strong and rich guy. Suppose that you have Mercury ‘calling’ and Mars, too. Mars is also rising before your Sun. That is the picture of the kind of guy who ‘calls’ and says things while working and fighting and fast…and all this at any kind of level, somehow, anyhow. Mercury and Mars prominent lead to discussions. There is a lot of discussion around Hulk Hogan today. People want him out after his racist 10 year old rant appeared on the internet. His name is no longer on the WWE Wall of Fame. Exit Hulk Hogan even not after saying sorry.

He said it. Now what does his chart say?

1.    Astrothème gives him Pluto conjunct Ascendant. That means that the present square of transit Pluto with his progressed Ascendant is twice as heavy as the usual Pluto (who is rather nice, with that big heart but also icy cold). Pluto means crisis, challenges and problems, often, just like Pluto means strength, power, influence and value. Pluto has two sides.

2.    Another painful point is transit Pholus sesquisquare his Mars (how about hurtfully shooting your own feet?).

3.    On top of this, transit Saturn square his midpoint Sun/Moon is depressing and demotivating.

4.    And there you have Pluto again: sesquisquare Sun/Moon to complicate things. You can’t have them all, but Hulk Hogan sure has a lot.

He was hit by Pluto, Saturn and Pholus at the same time: that is like a hard boomerang point of no return.

Here is the chart with transits and progressions. These bad transits wouldn't hurt anyone born at another time and place on that day, even though they also have Mercury and Mars 'calling'.

See the labels for more examples of Mercury ‘calling’ and opinions or remarks that cause trouble. And see http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Hulk_Hogan for the data.

Saturn: dead ends and facing hardness

This week I noticed two examples of transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Sun and how different were they!

The first one was of a farmer who is in 'Farmer seeks wife' in my country. The people of his home town declared that they were ashamed because of his behavior towards the 3 women who are competing to become his one and only. He even got a nick name: Horny Geert (Geile Geert) and there is a little scary movie starring this man (see: http://www.luckymedia.nl/luckytv/2015/01/geile-geert/ ). In fact, he isn't that bad at all. He just faces hardness.
I wrote about his chart on Astromarkt (see: http://www.astromarkt.net/boer-zoekt-vrouw.html ) But, fortunately, the farmer lives in my country. He won't be punished, beaten or killed for kissing the ladies. It is so unlike what may happen when you live in the Middle East.

The second one was yesterday. Yesterday the world was confronted with another horrific criminal murder committed by ISIS. The cruelty and sadism of this crime made me cry. I know that we are in changing times of Uranus-Pluto and I know that Neptune in Pisces started ideological revolutions. But that doesn't change the sentiment: it felt as if they burned a neighbor's son. Muath al-Kasasbeh, a Jordan pilot in ISIS captivity,  was executed in the most cruel and painful way possible. CNN tries to explain why this might be a strategy. It seems that ISIS' supporters were asked how to kill the pilot and this might be the result of it. It is incomprehensible and goes against rule number 1 in the world: don't do to another what you wouldn't want for yourself. My transit Saturn opposition progressed Moon makes me feel very sad about what happens in the world today.

Does the chart explain why this happened to Muath now? Can a chart give us information on not natural deaths in times of war?

No. More persons were born that day. There is no hour of birth available, so that there is no information about Midheaven, Ascendant and Moon's degree. But, we know the transits and we know the progressions. but there is always a combination of indications for good or bad times. Even if we knew the hour of birth, we'd have to consider circumstances. Charts are not fate. They show us the nature of things and perspectives.

Unfortunately, the perspective of the Jordan pilot was colored by transit Saturn.

1. Transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Sun,
2.  Transit Saturn moving to a square with Mars and
3. Also progressed Sun inconjunct progressed Neptune (like in the natal chart's quincunx between Sun and Neptune).

Both Saturn and Neptune bring bad luck and sadness. Together they are the combination of involuntary detachment. Mars-Saturn is the aspect of discipline, heroes, death and all acts related to duty and discipline.  Saturn-Sun aspects often confront you with criticism (correct or not), mistakes and with endings.

It depends very much on where you are (and how old), in what condition, and in what episode of history how transits of Saturn will manifest. Your personal situation and position depends on the nations' situation. When the nation is at war, your hard transits and progressions feel and come harder (see the links below).

It is always better to avoid being in an act of war or in a situation that might harm you. It is even more urgent when you have hard transits and progressions.

Here is the chart of the day of birth with transits and progressions.
Click and open in new window for larger picture

They say that the murder was on January 3. ISIS published their horror movie on February 3, when the progressed Sun of the victim was exactly inconjunct transit Saturn. Transit Saturn will be exactly square Mars later. In the progressed chart, the natal Sun inconjunct Neptune got closer. It is an aspect that sometimes refers to heroes (see http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/05/heroes-angles-and-sun-inconjunct.html ) or should I say: martyrs?

I am grateful to live in a place where farmer's kisses lead to 'funny' movies. It is such a different movie than the one that was shown to the world yesterday...

Transits and progressions of Michael Schumacher's accident

The German F1 racer Michael Schumacher had a terrible ski-accident and is now in coma. The doctors say there is nothing more they can do but wait. Accidents don't come alone: they are accompanied by more than 2 important transits or progressions, always. The former Stigg had a number of dramatic aspects yesterday. They indicate being confused or isolated, warn for getting hurt and needing a cure. They also include challenge, danger and problems.

1. Progressed Sun is exactly square progressed Neptune.
This aspect often accompanies a period of withdrawal or isolation. In the natal chart the Sun is semi square Neptune and Neptune is angular. That increases the importance of this progression.
He is in coma and in hospital and that seems to correspond with the nature of Neptune.

2. Progressed Mars and Progressed Pholus both semi square transit Pluto
This aspect warns for danger of injuries.

The two aspects above are valid even if the hour of birth is not completely correct. For the other transits and progressions, it takes more than that.

3. Transit Pluto on natal Sun/Moon midpoint (if the time of birth given by Astrodatabank is correct)
Sun/Moon is the point of heart and soul and of being motivated or not. Pluto intensifies motivations. The Sun/Moon-Pluto combination highlights crisis, issues of life and death and challenges in general.

4. Transit Mars square natal Moon
This is for a moment with a risk of getting hurt.

5. Transit Chiron is conjunct Progressed Moon, mirroring the need to heal.

6. Progressed Venus is inconjunct Progressed IC and in a growing sesquisquare with progressed Neptune.

There is no involvement of the 8th house, except for Pluto (natural ruler of 8) and Mars (ancient natural ruler of 8). In January and April/May transit Jupiter will be on the Progressed Ascendant (provided that the hour is correct!). Jupiter is the symbol of doctors, helpers and sometimes of hope that things will be getting better. His Jupiter, however is the ruler of the 8th house of life and death and of crisis. Given the situation, we will have to wait, see and hope for the best…

Astrology of Jang Sung-taek's execution

Here are the chart, transits and progressions of the late husband of Kim Young-Un's aunt: Jang Sung-taek. The man who was referred to as a 'dog' used to have a position of power. His life style (women, booze and fraud), the officials said, was the reason for his execution. A few weeks earlier, the ex-lover of Kim Young-Un was executed because of acting in a 'porn' movie. Kim Young-Un's year of birth is 1983 or 1984, so it is hard to have a look at HIS chart, though every January 8' chart has the natal Sun opposition the Mars of 'uncle' Jang. Sun-Mars conflicts between men refer to competition.

There is unanimity about Jang Sung-taek's data. He was born on February 2, 1946, with a revolutionary chart with 4 positions in Aquarius opposition Pluto and trine Uranus. Now is the time of Uranus square Pluto, so that it is likely for people born on February 2, 1946 to have to face an episode of stressful change now.

When Jang Sung-taek died, the mundane Uranus square Pluto transit hit his Neptune and his Pluto.
1. Transit Uranus was opposition his Neptune;
2.  transit Pluto was inconjunct his Pluto;
3. transit Pluto was also quindecile his progressed Mars;
4. progressed Mars was  inconjunct progressed Pholus;
5. progressed Sun inconjunct progressed Chiron;
6. progressed Venus inconjunct progressed Juno (mirroring the importance of his marriage; his wife was spared).

You see? There were 3 quincunxes pointing at losing balance and danger of a loss. Mars was involved twice (hurt, action) and Pluto also twice (danger, challenges). Even without explaining all of the transits and progressions, it is easy to see that he was in the middle of a difficult period. Anyone born on February 2, 1946 should pay attention to his health and safety right now, but...
You don't HAVE to be murdered when you are born on the same day.

Kenian politician Alpha_Oumar_Konaré, an American comedian named Clark and businessman Constantine Papadakis (died 2009 - cause pneumonia) were also born on Februari 2, 1946, but not in North Korea, where it is so easy to get executed in the name of the grandson of the first leader

A difficult natal Pluto and a position of power, a dictator and a hard synastry with the dictator's chart may get you in a difficult situation...

Mars, Pholus and Phallus: male supremacy

This blog is about Mars and Pholus, the symbol Phallus and male supremacy or dominance. I found that the controversy American nuns-Pope,  Jonah Falcon's problems at the airport and Mick Jagger's 'size' have the same component: Mars-Pholus. And that is why I think that:
Mars - Pholus can mirror the issue of of (male) supremacy. And maybe even: hurt or challenged male supremacy.

I am interested in Pholus (and maybe that is because of the position of this object in my chart).  Here is the ancient Pholus, (preparing his venomous arrows?):

You know Pholus?
If you are wondering about Pholus, or if you need more info first, please read the article on my site Astromarkt and don't forget to use the links in that article: http://astromarkt.net/astrology-pholus.html

If you are in a hurry: Pholus is an asteroid, a small object that pops up in a chart as the catalyst. Transit Pholus often reflects the small and insignificant but irrevocable  trigger point. But what starts as a tiny thing can grow out of proportions, like the sudden rise of an X-factory star. Susan Boyle, for example, has Pholus on MC. Her career certainly has a point of no return. (Sex had nothing much to do with that).

PHALLUS/PRIAPUS
Do you know Phallus? It is a symbol. Related to Phallus we have Priapus (whose image was found in Roman gardens) and …the garden gnome (a powerful little man). (Pholus is also small and insignificant in the beginning.) The phallus and the stiff middle finger; both are symbols of dominance.

MARS AND PHOLUS
The appearance of Pholus in the charts of men (males) accents the importance, the issue or the problem of sexual achievement or better said: male dominance. In the article on Astropost I mentioned the spotlights on sex, corresponding with transits Pholus. Of course, Mars is already the symbol of the drive, reproduction and testosterone. You need Mars to get into action. When Mars and Pholus get together, this activates the issue of male supremacy and the importance of the male sexual organ.  And maybe that is because Pholus is actually uh... not a giant. This giant Polish gnome is an exception:

Here are a few examples of Mars-Pholus.

A.  MALE SUPREMACY IN THE POPE's CHART
An example is Pope Benedict. Pholus is the most elevated object of the natal chart  and in Sagittarius, opposition Mars. This opposition is on either side of Midheaven. How to read this?
- The scandal of sexual abuse is an important issue in the RC church in the past decade.
- The abstinence of sex is important for him as a person and being discussed (Gemini/Sagittarius) a lot.  The Mars-Pholus opposition on the meridian places the issue of sexual abuse and the question if celibacy should remain obligatory for priest, on the agenda.
- The controversy about an American nun (Elizabeth Johnson) who dared to write about God in a book with the title 'SHE WHO IS' shows how important male dominance is in world religions, even today. This male dominance is the cross line in the chart of Pope Benedict. Mars and Pholus are aspects of his profession and position. No woman can become a pope or a priest. You need to be male. That is male dominance.
- Transit Pholus is now inconjunct the Pope's Progressed Sun and square his Progressed Midheaven. It seems that this is a year of a turning point for him but it also shows us the issue of dominance and supremacy.

B. THE LARGEST PENIS OF JONAH FALCON
Jonah Falcon was seriously offended by questions to empty his pockets (at the airport). They thought he had something in them. But, as a matter of facts, he has the world's largest penis. And that fact was being highlighted and mirrored by Pholus last week. He has Transit Pholus square P Sun now. See Wiki about him. And his Mars is 157.5 degrees from Pholus (sesquisquare and half semi square)! The size matters in his case (he earns a lot of money with it).

C. MALE DOMINANCE AMONG POP STARS
Pholus keeps going on these days! See this story... on rollingstone.com. In short: Peter Townsend (writing his memoirs) now  remembers all about Jagger's penis. That is with transit Pholus sesquisquare Mick's  natal Sun! In the natal chart of the singer of the Rolling Stone (who had more sex than Casanova!) the midpoint Mars/Pholus is semi square Sun, to introduce the issue of male dominance. Now, with transit Pholus, his sexual organ is in the spotlights, in a frustrating way (after Keith Richards mocked the size of his penis, see this article... ) And guess what transit is in hard aspect with Keith's Sun/Moon midpoint these days? Right: it is Pholus.

PHOLUS WITH MARS
Pholus is with Mars when (male) supremacy and sexuality are being challenged
Pholus is also with Mars in times of war. Winston Churchill's Mars trine Pholus shows the importance of supremacy in his life. The trine is the kind of aspect that makes it easy for Mars-Pholus to dominate.

PS
Pholus is now in the 17th  degree of Sagittarius. Tomorrow transit Phallus will be opposition transit Venus. Male dominance facing the symbol of female attraction…

LINK
The phallus is the symbol of power and dominance. Pholus shows up when polls are important (see that story about Obama's polls, one of the posts about Obama ) ( BTW How many K+ did you get with Transit Pholus? )

Chart Jagger
 http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2012/07/chart-of-mick-jagger.html

More about the garden gnome...

I also think that Pholus means Phallus because of the events in British' football and the part that Pholus played in the charts of the player involved in cheating his best friend with his wife.

Life of Amy Winehouse and astrology

Amy Winehouse died and a beautiful voice has gone. All we know is her day and place of birth and that is a limitation. There are so many more persons born on her birthday (for example Frostee Rucker). They are not all singing or using drugs and they didn't all die this week. Still, we can see the potential of artistic talent in the chart. Here is more about the most important moments in her career and life. And of course there is also more about the chart of her day of birht. Because the question is: how does this chart (partly) show these major events, if you consider the fact that she was a woman on stage in a world full of drugs? It is fragmental because of the missing hour of birth but in short: the passionate and driven person, living the blues to the max, is in Venus and Mars rising before the Sun, the 'calling' Saturn in Scorpio. And situation and circumstances did the rest. Continue for more about the charts of the debute, marriage, divorce, final day and about the talent in the chart.

Shaquille O'Neal, retirement and Saturn

When there are important moments in life there are at least 3 indications for change (the rule of three). There are (of course) a number of indications in the chart of Shaquille O'Neal for stopping, retiring and ending his career.

1. Transit Pholus square natal Sun (now) for a turning point in life and lifestyle.

2. Transit Saturn will be square Midheaven in August. That is for a career end and depressing condition.

3. Transit Pluto semi square Progressed MC (now and in December 2011): frustrating transformation process...frustrated/difficult come back. His condition (MC) doesn't allow him to go on.

4. Transit Uranus conjunct progressed Mercury is for shocking news (right now, sudden decisions)

5. Transit Saturn trine Progressed Venus right now is perhaps about relationships or the respect that he gets from his fans.

Those are not easy aspects and that is to be expected. There is even more (like transit Neptune square Saturn ruler 10 - he needs cortisone for injuries and his achilles' heel is damaged - and Transit Pholus inconjunct natal Mars for the phyrric victory and the turning point in energy level).

Shaquille O'Neal is the best basketball player of all times.

Saturn and Lars von Trier

Saturn is the planet of criticism and the punishment for mistakes. A good example is the chart of Lars von Trier, who choose this astrological period and that place and moment to joke about Nazi's:

Transit Saturn inconjunct Sun
Transit Uranus square progressed Sun,
Transits Saturn inconjunct Progressed Mars
Transit Saturn trine Progressed Mercury
Transit Neptune square natal Mercury
Transit Uranus square progressed Sun,

In an interview he said that he understood Hitler. Now he is 'persona non grata' at the film festival of Cannes, although his (nominated) movie 'Melancholia' (...) still has a chance to win the Golden Palm. That won't be a pleasure for this Moon in Capricorn.

Saturn is the symbol of restrictions and inconjuntions almost always mean loss. Saturn+Uranus = restricted freedom. Saturn+Neptune with Mercury might refer to sick jokes. And than we have Saturn inconjunct Mars (dead ends). Saturn is the apex of the Yod with progressed Mars and natal Sun (and Progressed Mars is sextile natal Sun). Mars-Saturn apparently mirrors a disciplinary act (maybe a bit disproportional). Mercury and Mars with Saturn is reflecting nasty discussions. Uranus square Sun causes upheaval. Moreover: Saturn inconjunct Sun is an unfortunate combination of being blamed or criticised (and punished, too).

Those are 5 hard aspect combinations. That is more than 3 and that is usually enough for something important to happen. Lars von Trier managed to be the first 'persona non grata' of the Cannes festival. There are more persons born on April 30, 1956, of course. But they don't all have an interview and their hours of birth make a difference.

So let's say that Lars von Trier didn't actually have a great timing. Saturn happens to be the symbol of timing, too...

In 2000 in Cannes he won. That is when the progressed Sun was sextile Jupiter and transit Jupiter and Saturn where square Jupiter. There is more Jupiter than Saturn in the astrological picture of 2000. That is the difference.
BTW In the natal chart the Sun is square Mars and Mercury is in a strong opposition with Saturn. When natal aspect combinations are being repeated by transit or progressions, there is great impact. Another interesting aspect combination is Mars conjunct Pholus. The turning point (Pholus) in a conflict (Mars) seems also to have the effect of a conflict (Mars) causing a turning point (Pholus).

Chart, progressions and transits of Dominique Strauss-Kahn

Someone mailed me about the excellent analysis of the Oxford Astrologer*) of the chart of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the IMF leader who is now in jail after accusations of attempt of raping a chamber maid in a NY hotel. What more can I say? This post adds something about Pholus on his Descendant, the progressed chart and the transits of May 14, 2011 (day of the arrest). On that day there was a difficult combination of transits: transit Neptune, ruler 8th house, inconjunct DSK's Ascendant + transit Saturn quindecile (165d) his important Mars.  Transit Saturn will soon be trine progressed Midheaven and Mars (as from next week till July). What does it mean? In short, that says: double death ends (restrictions) and humiliation. And there is always more in such cases: Mercury trine Neptune in the progressed chart. Mercury-Neptune is the suspect’s aspect combination (see the posts about the Friedman’s and Amanda Knox, see the labe). Mercury-Neptune also doesn’t support trips. There will always be something wrong with the schedule. Even it there are trines (or maybe it is even easier to confuse plans with trines!).

Charts must be seen in the light of someone’s gender, genes, situation, status, condition and culture. Strauss-Kahn risks a 20 year punishment for what he did in the USA. Earlier sexual misbehavior in Europe hasn’t even been reported. It seems that the IMF-man did the wrong thing in the wrong city. And that the tightest major natal aspect in his chart (Mars sextile Uranus, see Astromarkt) proved to be the aspect of acting on impulse, again.

Continue for more about the natal chart, the changes in the progressed chart and the complete list of transits for the day of his arrest, with chart drawings.

Winston Churchill's natal chart

NOVEMBER 30 is the birthday of Winston Churchill. There are 3 posts about his natal chart on Astropost. His chart is the chart of a politician, above all, of leadership and ... of an artistic talent. It is clearly in the chart.

POLITICAL LEADERSHIP: Pluto and fixed/fire signs
The 'finger of God' in a Yod is pointing at the planet that is making an inconjunction with the two other planets, the apex. This 'finger of God' is pointing at Pluto and this highlighted Pluto is quintile his Mars: for the creative drive to win. Pluto is the symbol of winning, authority, power, strategy and politics. Pluto is the apex of his Yod of Pluto, Venus and Jupiter. Venus-Jupiter-Pluto is the trio of 'a lot of money' and of 'a lot of admirers'.

The 50% placements in fixed signs is for holding on and standing firm, the 50% in firesigns shows drive and pride. The fixed + fire sign Leo is the sign of leadership. The elementary placements in his chart also show the fundaments of leadership...

ARTISTIC PATTERN
He was a political leader and ...a painter and author. Moon 112.5 (square + half semi square) Venus and trine Neptune, connected with Midheaven show the pattern of artistic talent. And we can see the international and the optimist (Jupiter rising before the Sagittarius Sun) and Ceres (the motherland).

ASPECTS
Mars exactly trine Pholus
You know that Pholus is the astrological symbol of the turning point and Mars is the symbol of war. It seems perfectly correct that Winston Churchill was born on the day that there was a trine (symbol of ease) between Mars and Pholus. He made efforts and worked to create a turning point in World War II. Mars is also quintile Pluto for the dramatic creative winner*).

Mercury in Scorpio square Uranus
Mercury-Uranus always has controversial opinions and Winston Churchill was no exception.*)Some of the things that he said would bring him in trouble today, but the speech about the beaches was great...
"We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."

Chart of Winston Churchill - part 3-

Winston Churchill’s progressed Sun is now conjunct the Northern Node. Jupiter and Uranus are about to make hard aspects with Ascendant and Midheaven (again). Transit Ceres (elevated in his natal chart) is conjunct progressed Mars. Ceres is the symbol of seeds, heredity, mothers and motherlands (home).

That is the astrological situation now that the famous speeches of Winston Churchill (with the one about ‘fighting on the beaches’, see You Tube) reached the British CD Top Ten. Time to get back to the reading of Winston Churchill’s natal chart. It is a B-rated Astrodatabank chart. That means that the positions of Ascendant, Midheaven and Moon (strongly related to the precise hour of birth) are not verified. But we can be certain that when he was born Venus was sextile Jupiter and inconjunct Pluto (Jupiter was in a wider inconjunct). That means great popularity.
I like to point at Mars exactly trine Pholus: that is astrological for making a turning point in a fight or war.

In January of last year I used his chart as an exemple of ‘ how to read a chart’ in two steps:
1. The ‘ procedure’ is in this post (part one of the reading) http://astropost.blogspot.com/2009/01/project-reading-chart-of-winston.html
2. The reading is in the second post:
My conclusion was that the chart showed:
" A popular and optimistic communicative strategic or political leader with an international orientation in a domestic or historical (Cancer Midheaven) field. And let us not forget that he needs to show off his ideals and dreams. Once we know the social setting and when we know the historical circumstances and consider those with our findings in mind, it is even more clear how a talented and artistic nobleman with leadership and 'the finger of God' pointing at Pluto for politics could produce those words:
"We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."
What made him say so: 50% in fixed signs for holding on and standing firm, 50% in firesigns for the drive and the pride.
WHY CONTROVERSIAL?Why did Winston Churchill have such controversial ideas and why was his opinion often provocative?
It is because of the important Mercury in Scorpio square the rebel among the planets, Uranus. And also: have another look at the chart and see Ceres (genes, heirdoom) on top in Aries, reflecting the importance of breeding, seed, births and the homeland. That explains a lot of what he said and what shocked us.
PS Some of the things that he said would perhaps be reason for a trial today...But the speech about the beaches was just fabulous (I think).

(Moon and Neptune are in aspect with Midheaven and each other. The Moon is in a 112.5 (square + half semi square) with Venus. That is a minor aspect. Minor aspects are illustrating the qualities that don’t show up easy (the more private capacities).

Alberto Contador, Jupiter and the positive test

Usually (or should I say: in the cases that I studied) there is a Sun-Jupiter combination in the charts, transits or progressions when someone is found positive in doping cases. Being positive CAN have a negative meaning.... I have written about that before (see the links).
This time Alberto Contador has been found positive (but it might just be a matter of food contamination, says Contador's publicist). Transit Jupiter is in an exact minor aspect with the progressed Sun (75 degrees). There is no aspect between the natal Sun in Sagittarius*) and Jupiter in the natal chart (unless 20 degrees distance has a meaning). More minor aspects with Pholus and Uranus mirror the upheaval and the conflict (like transit Pholus semi square natal Mars).

Time unknown chart of Contador

Sun-Jupiter transits and progressions keep popping up when doping is involved (or when someone is being found ‘ positive’). All about the negative positive Jupiter in doping cases:
